IDENTIFICATION AND ANALYSIS OF FAMILIES WITH GENETIC SUSCEPTIBILITY TO CANCER
This research study is designed to find and characterize genes that may be involved in the development of familial cancer. Past medical information will be released to members of the study group and this information will be discussed with members of the research group.
Patients are asked to participate in this research study because they may have familial cancer risk and/or have tested positive for a mutation(s) in a cancer predisposition gene. As part of this research study they may be asked to provide a sample of their own blood or saliva for use in DNA analysis, access to stored tumor block material (if they have had a cancer) and / or information about personal medical history and family history of cancer. Contribution to this study will be to further research and the understanding of genetic risk for cancer.
